Netflix’s I am not okay with this is a 7 part series created by Jonathan Entwistle. He also created Netflix’s The End of the F***ing World.  Rating : 6.5/10 Synopsis I am not okay with this is about a teenage girl trying to fit in in high school while dealing with the complexities with her family, sexuality and her so called “super powers”. Sydny, the protagonist, finds out she can do things with her mind one day and she tries to keep it as a secret fro everyone. Stanley, “friend” of Sydney, trying to figure out and the control the “powers” of Syd.  Thoughts on the Show.  Story : I found the storyline a bit basic. Its started off like any other high school teen comedy, where the protagonist having a hard time fitting in. Upto the penultimate episode the story can be described as cliche. Pros: 1. Acting of the stars 2. Direction of Maniratnam 3. Cinematography  4. Story mood defining colour grading 5. Engaging first half Cons: 1. Failed second half 2. Failed character development 3. Poor combining of scenes and bgms 4. Seethakaathi Starring: Vijay Sethupathi, Archana, Mauli Directed by: Balaji Tharaneetharan Plot: Ayya (Vijay Sethupathi), a legendary stage artist who acted in dramas for his entire life, dying during an act. Then his acting continuing as immortal through others.. The story is a symbolic representation  of the fact, artist and his art are immortal.. Pros: 1. Acting of Vijay Sethupathi (as usual) 2. Direction 3. Era defining costumes and lighting. 4. Cinematography (exploring refreshing camera angles) Cons: 1. Poorly written story 2. Non gripping second half following an excellent first half.. 3. Over exaggeration of facts 4. Vague conclusion 5. Directed by: Vijay Krishna Acharya Plot: In the 18th century, the East India Company pitted against Khudabaksh (Amitabh Bachchan), a "Thug of the Seas", fighting to liberate his country. The English, not knowing how to defeat him, call on a talented con artist, Firangi Mallah (Aamir Khan). Pros : 1. Stunning cinematography and breathtaking locations 2. Graphics and CGI (upto some point) Cons : 1. Aamir's character is a desi rip off of Johny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow.. Cringy.. 2. Inconsistent script. BumbleBee Starring: John Cena, Hailee Steinfield Directed by : Travis Knight Plot: The movie consisting an "Origin Story" of the renowned Transformers franchise character Bumblebee.. The story comprises the first appearance of the autobots and the decepticons to the Earth.. On the run year of 1987, Bumblebee is being a refuge in a junkyard in a small beach town in California and being accidentally finding out by Charlie (Hailee) on her 18th birth day as her present.
